In addition to the core services provided by the Florida Small Business Development Centers, the Network provides the following specialized assistance:

Business Continuity & Risk Management Center Program

The Business Continuity and Risk Management Center Program is a specialized program that operates through the existing statewide infrastructure of the Florida Small Business Development Center Network. The purpose of the Business Continuity and Risk Management Center (BCRM) program is to ensure statewide businesses have proper education in, training on and assistance in business continuity planning and risk management technical assistance to minimize losses and increase survivability when affected by natural and/or man-made disasters.

Business Technology Commercialization (BTC) Program

The BTC was established to serve as a commercialization catalyst by the FSBDCN in 2003—providing support for the rapid commercialization of innovative products and processes, systems integration, productivity and quality improvements by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) engaged in R&D or manufacturing in Florida. The BTC assists in locating sources of venture capital, angel investors and other alternative financing.

Defense Economic Transition Assistance (DETA) Program

The DETA Program was established in 2002 as a special program of the FSBDCN, hosted by the University of West Florida. The program is funded by the US SBA and provides management and technical transition assistance to targeted defense-dependent businesses and individuals.

Office of International Programs

The Office of International Programs coordinates a statewide program designed to advance the global competitiveness of small business through preparation, education and consultation.

Procurement and Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) Program

Established in 1985 as a special program of the FSBDCN, hosted by the University of West Florida, the PTAC Program is funded through federal and state agencies to provide assistance to Florida firms interested in doing business with the government. Federal matching funds are provided by the Defense Logistics Agency.

Veterans' Business Outreach Center (VBOC) Program

The VBOC Program was established in 1999 as a special program of the FSBDCN and is located at the SBDC at Gulf Coast Community College. The program is funded by the US SBA to serve as a clearinghouse of business and technical assistance for veterans interested in starting or growing a business in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
