Jacksonville MaidPro Franchise Grows to 14 Employees Despite Challenging Economic Environment
	"Kevin Monahan, SBDC CBA, helped me make the decision to buy a business the right way, with good research and analysis," said Brian Dunmore.
	Brian Dunmore was looking for change. He had an extensive professional and organizational background, but was seeking independence. This quest led him to the Small Business Development Center at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville where he met with Certified Business Analyst (CBA) Kevin Monahan. Kevin agreed, after talking to Brian, that either a franchise or an acquisition would be a good route for him to explore. A franchise would make available a turn-key system he could follow with branding, manuals and procedures all in place. The acquisition of an existing franchise seemed like an expeditious way for Brian to get into business for himself. Kevin and Brian discussed the pros and cons of franchise ownership and talked to a franchise consultant and business broker to explore the idea further. It wasn’t long until Brian found what he was looking for. A franchise called MaidPro located in Southside. It had been performing well and the current owner needed to move out of the area. In order to ensure this was a good match, Kevin encouraged Brian to complete a business plan for the acquisition utilizing Pitch Then Plan™ netware. This combination of research and analysis, as well as his negotiations and owner cooperation, led to the conclusion that this was the right move for Brian. He was now a MaidPro franchise owner! By June 2008, Brian had moved in and taken over. He made a few changes, but not as many as he anticipated. MaidPro is a highly respected franchise out of Boston with a philosophy of support for its franchisees and is not caught up in fast growth at the expense of quality. Kevin and Brian have continued to meet, discussing areas such as marketing, management and training. In what is a challenging economic environment for most companies, Brian Dunmore’s MaidPro franchise is growing. MaidPro has fourteen employees with little turnover due to rigorous employee selection, training and a friendly, supportive management team. The outlook is bright for MaidPro!
