FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Selling to the Government: It Can Be Easy and Lucrative PENSACOLA, FL: PTAC clients were awarded 2,911 government contracts, totaling $380 million dollars during the twelve-month period from October 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006. The contract awards resulted in 3,968 new jobs created by Florida firms.Interested? If you are a Florida business—small, large, for profit or non-profit—you should take advantage of the PTAC Program to obtain government (federal, state or local) contracts. PTAC is the acronym for the Procurement Technical Assistance Center Program and their motto is "Selling to the Government Made Easy". As a specialized program of the Florida Small Business Development Center Network, funded by the Department of Defense, the PTAC Program has six PTAC centers—Pensacola, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Boca Raton and Ft. Myers—with nine Procurement Specialists, located statewide. These Procurement Specialists provide one-on-one counseling sessions free of charge for all Florida business firms, regardless of business entity—sole source, S or C Corporation, Partnership, or Limited Liability Corporation (LLC)—or the business size. Training sessions are presented at various locations at a small charge to cover the cost of presentation materials.
