BCRM services are available through all statewide Florida SBDC Network offices: Statewide Listing of Florida SBDC Service Centers.

The FSBDCN is a member of the Florida State Emergency Response Team (SERT) under ESF - 18 (Emergency Support Function) - Business, Industry and Economic Stabilization.

FSBDCN Mobile Business Assistance Center (MAC) Program


In an effort to make future disaster assistance more accessible, the FSBDCN purchased two Mobile Business Assistance Centers (MACs). In the event of a disaster, the MAC's will be deployed out in the field for on-the-spot disaster recovery assistance. Each unit is equipped with laptops, satellite communications, business libraries, supplies and more.

This presentation is designed for businesses that have suffered losses as the result of a casualty, with special emphasis on tax relief in disaster situations. The course includes information on what constitutes a casualty, the type of records needed to determine and prove a casualty loss, how to calculate and report the loss, and special rules for Presidentially declared disaster areas. The material also covers when to include casualty loss reimbursements in income, and how reimbursements and casualty loss deductions affect the basis of property.

Disaster Contractors Network
A virtual organization of construction-related associations, state and federal emergency management organizations and regulatory agencies whose purpose is to facilitate information sharing and resource matching along the great Gulf Coast. It's designed to help home and small business owners rebuild following devastations from disasters. They assist the owner with finding a suitable contractor, materials and labor; with ensuring that proper permitting and licensing of both in-state and out-of-state contractors is in place; by verifying the appropriate license for Florida and their county; by furnishing information needed to help the owner be disaster ready; and with documents and links to many other websites that hold useful information for disaster victims and contractors. They are also set up to assist contractors in need of materials, subcontractors and labor. Their scope encompasses Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.
