Each year, the FSBDC Network hosts its Annual Capitol Reception in Washington, D.C. The event was implemented in 2000 as a new and exciting way to brief the Florida Congressional Delegation regarding the impact of federal funding on the overall economy of the small business community and, in particular, impact in each member's district. A distinctive element of this annual event is the acknowledgement of an outstanding individual and a Floridian whose efforts promote and advocate for both the American dream and the federal SBDC program. The FSBDC is the only program in the national network of approximately 1,100 SBDCs that coordinates an entire delegation briefing in a relaxed informal setting.
