The Florida SBDC Network conducts annual visits on The Hill in Washington, DC to brief the Florida Congressional Delegation regarding the impact of federal funding on the overall economy of the small business community and, in particular, impact in each member's district. If budgets permit, a Capitol Reception is held. Since 2000, when the event was implemented, a Reception has been held every year with the exception of 2005, 2008 and 2009. A distinctive element of the annual visits/reception is the acknowledgement of an outstanding individual and a Floridian whose efforts promote and advocate for both the American dream and the federal SBDC program.
