Client Profile Joyce Beauvais/Concierge Car Service of the Palm Beaches, LLC Can one be an entrepreneur at age 7? Joyce Beauvais was, starting as a young actress, then, producing theater, finally owning and operating a restaurant and jazz cabaret in New York City. Her world and her life changed when she was asked to put together a seminar on the elderly in the early 90’s. Her new world, her new commitment, grew from there, and by the time she first met with SBDC CBA Ted Kramer she had immersed herself in a number of organizations working with the elderly here in Florida. Among other positions, Joyce became a well-respected Activity Director in upscale senior retirement communities. The position also included the oversight of the transportation departments. She observed so much missing in the quality of senior life and their independence. "I was standing under a lucky star when I was put together with Ted Kramer of SBDC." Joyce said. She stated, "Working with Ted and putting together some as yet unspecified organization to help seniors on the go, resulted in a rather broad endeavor called "Allow Us to Assist". In 2007 Joyce was invited to attend the once a decade White House Conference on Aging from which she returned with a new direction, working on transportation needs for seniors who had spent their adult lives going to theater, dinner and the other pleasures they enjoyed, not to mention the on-going medical appointments, and now voluntarily or by force of illness, etc could no longer drive, but still wanted to continue on with the rest of their lives. From this came Concierge Car Service of The Palm Beaches - a membership club. Now she and Ted speak on a regular basis and Ted sat in on meetings with perspective operational partners. Joyce will tell you how hard it is to find a partner who shares your dream and your commitment. That partner turned out to be Ash Kamel who has owned a limousine service for the past 14 years and who shares Joyce’s vision. The company offers several levels of memberships to its clients so that they can buy only the level of services they need and at a discounted rate from having to call for car service on an individual trip basis. By now Joyce and Ted were speaking and meeting more frequently as she put together the price lists and developed her marketing plan.
