Jackson is a former schoolteacher turned programmer. He earned the
BS in Social Work (1974) and an MS in Education (1976) from Florida
State University. During his tenure as a public school employee he
became a computer programmer and consultant, migrating from teacher/guidance
counselor to Computer Coordinator, Programmer, and ultimately as a
Technology Consultant for the Florida Department of Education. Jerald
successfully owned and operated a profitable business for ten years
managing all aspects including financial, marketing, and operations.
He has worked extensively in the private sector as a programmer, trainer,
and IT Director. He came to the Florida SBDC Network in 1999. His
duties include designing and maintaining the FSBDC public and IntraNet
web sites; training Statewide Network staff on the Center IC system;
data conversion and reporting; research and recommendations for software
and hardware procurement; and general technical support for SDO staff.
In addition to his duties at SDO FSBDC, he is a peace activist and
musician. |
